The Director of Non-OR Procedural Services provides strategic and operational leadership for procedural areas including Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Endoscopy/Gastroenterology (GI), Bronchoscopy, and other hospital-based procedural suites. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, physician and staff engagement, and financial stewardship across these services.
Position Responsibilities:
- The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operations and staff (clinical and non-clinical) of the Surgical Services Department.
- Serves as a key member of the leadership team and will participate in strategy, goal setting and is responsible for overall operational effectiveness of the areas of responsibility.
- Operates as a key member of the hospital leadership team, developing and implementing strategy to deliver optimal nursing care.
- Directs and ensures continuous quality and safety of staff and patients and improvement of all clinical practices, services and operations by managing the design and implementation of systems, processes and methods to evaluate and improve safe patient care across the continuum.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Operate as a key member of the hospital leadership team, developing and implementing strategy to deliver optimal nursing care.
- Directs and ensures continuous quality and safety of staff and patients and improvement of all clinical practices, services and operations by managing the design and implementation of systems, processes and methods to evaluate and improve safe patient care across the continuum.
- Builds focus on analytics to enable the clinical area to monitor and sustain excellence in performance as well as identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Directs and manages the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care standards which are integrated with business plans to meet or exceed quality, service, clinical and utilization standards while remaining cost effective.
- Serves as a clinical lead and coordinates/executes project plans for new departmental growth opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with all licensing requirements for all site locations and all departmental clinical and admin staff.
- Maintains an ongoing state of regulatory readiness
- Accountable for staffing, training, and hiring of departmental resources.
- Manages and resolves human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety and risk management issues.
- Responsible for maintaining a management team with the education, experience and skills to lead their respective areas of responsibility in an effective manner.
- Develops future leadership teams through coaching and mentoring.
- Directs budget management and resource allocation
- Manages financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce cost and improve quality and safety of care and service.
- Building an Environment of Partnership and Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the clinical support and ancillary departments and leadership that support daily functions in the acute care hospital.
- Build strong, collaborative partnerships with all staff, as well as physicians and other care team partners.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Masters preferred
- Leadership certification preferred (for example CEN, NE-BC, other) within 2 years of hire
- 4-5 years healthcare leadership experience required
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania
- Experience as a RN in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Endoscopy/Gastroenterology (GI), Bronchoscopy, and/or other hospital-based procedural suites strongly preferred.
