Position: Hiring Per Diem Occ Med APP (CRNP or PA-C)

Position Description:

The Penn Occupational Medicine team provides services to employees of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) at 3 locations in Philadelphia:
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). The provider group currently consists of 5 Nurse Practitioners and 3 Physicians who see patients in the outpatient setting.

They are seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) – to join their team. The new hire will be based primarily at HUP but may occasionally rotate through PPMC and PAH, as well. The providers manage a wide range of employee health needs, such as:

  • Medical care for workplace injuries
  • Workers’ compensation management
  • Employment examinations
  • Environmental consultative services
  • Employee health assessment programs
  • Fitness for duty evaluations
  • Return-to-work evaluations
  • Surveillance for Occupational Health concerns

Candidates should be able to commit to an average of 2-3 day shifts per month. There are no evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities associated with this position.

Minimum Requirements

CRNP candidates must possess:

  • Licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • A MSN or DNP
  • Current certification as a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
  • Current CPR certification
  • At least 2 years of experience, preferably in the Occupational Health or Primary Care settings

PA-C candidates must possess:

  • Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Current CPR certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Occupational Health setting
