MRI Technologist Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist (2+ years preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program (required)
  • ARRT certification in MRI (required)
  • MRI Certification (required)
  • CT Certification (preferred)
  • Previous contract healthcare job experience preferred, but not required
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans and ensure accurate patient identification and safety
  • Greet patients, explain MRI procedures, and provide clinical support throughout the exam
  • Obtain and review patient history, screen for surgeries and implants, and secure consent for contrast
  • Place angiocatheters and administer IV MRI contrast agents as directed by the Radiologist
  • Operate MRI scanners, RF coils, workstations, patient monitoring equipment, and MR injectors
  • Archive and verify MRI images, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with hospital protocols
  • Monitor patient status and wellbeing during MRI studies, responding to emergencies as needed
  • Assist radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members with MRI procedures
  • Comply with OSHA, TJC, DOH, and all mandated hospital safety regulations
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for assigned MRI workstation, rotating stock as necessary
  • Communicate equipment issues and image quality concerns promptly
  • Foster positive working relationships within the hospital and with external healthcare partners
