MRI Technologist Job Details

  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2260–$2430
MRI Technologist Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology program (required)
  • ARRT certification in MRI (required)
  • MRI Certification (required)
  • CT Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with healthcare contract assignments preferred
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital protocols
  • Verify patient identification, review Epic orders, and ensure accurate diagnosis information
  • Greet patients, explain MRI procedures, and obtain patient history
  • Screen for surgeries, implants, and allergies; obtain consent for contrast and verify GFR as needed
  • Place angiocatheters and administer IV MRI contrast agents under Radiologist direction
  • Operate MRI scanners, RF coils, workstations, monitoring equipment, and MR injectors
  • Archive and verify MRI images, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and maintain compliance with section protocols
  • Monitor patient status and wellbeing throughout MRI studies
  • Assist radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members during procedures
  • Comply with OSHA, TJC, DOH, and all mandated healthcare safety regulations
  • Maintain inventory, rotate stock, and eliminate outdated medical supplies
  • Respond to emergency situations per department policy
  • Foster positive working relationships within the hospital and with external partners
  • Promptly communicate equipment or image quality issues
