Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop comprehensive plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty piping systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment selection in alignment with local codes and standards such as IPC, ASPE, and NFPA.
- Prepare detailed construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project integration and coordination.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and code requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and engineering studies.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to confirm adherence to design specifications.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on plumbing system design.
- FE/EIT credential.
- PE license is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of projects, especially commercial, institutional, and industrial.
- Advanced proficiency in engineering tools such as CADD and BIM; expertise in Autodesk Revit is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of codes and standards, including IPC, UPC, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 99, and ASHRAE.
- Experience with fire protection engineering is an advantage.
- Membership in professional organizations such as ASPE is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Salary range: $90k to $120k.
