Special Education Teacher - Philadelphia, PA

A Special Education Teacher position is available to support preschool students with special needs within community preschools in the Philadelphia area. This itinerant role provides an opportunity to work with approximately 30 students across various nearby communities, including Lansdowne, Darby, Sharon Hill, Glenolden, Morton, Aston, Broomall, and Folcroft. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, averaging 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to preschool students with special education needs in community-based settings.
• Manage and maintain a caseload of approximately 30 students.
• Collaborate with preschool staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training, with initial guidance provided.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Pre-Kindergarten to 4th grade (PK-4) and/or special education in Pennsylvania is required.
• Candidates holding emergency permits in special education will be considered.
• Experience working with preschool children with special needs is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the designated communities to provide services.

This contract role offers the potential for renewal, including opportunities for next school year (NSY) and extended school year (ESY) assignments.

The position is based in Broomall, PA, with students served in surrounding community preschools.
