As a Staff Account Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Perform a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries.

- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records and transactions.

- Assist with month-end closing processes and prepare reports for management.

- Review and analyze financial documents to ensure compliance with regulations and organizational policies.

- Maintain and update accounting databases, investigating and correcting discrepancies.

- Support payroll processing and special fund accounting activities.

- Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure proper allocation and compliance.

- Evaluate financial transactions for compliance with funding agency requirements and organizational standards.

- Compile financial data for reporting purposes and assist in preparing operational and special reports.

- Provide assistance and information to staff and customers regarding account policies and procedures.

Requirements

The Ideal Staff Accountant will meet the following Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the public sector.

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books, and SAP.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries.

- Experience with month-end close processes and bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with public sector accounting principles and regulations.

- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
