What You’ll DoAs a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of our cable systems—from subscriber drops to trunk lines. You’ll play a key role in maintaining signal quality, activating new plants, and auditing the system to ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair cable television services
- Diagnose and fix feeder cables using tools like Volt Ohm Meters, signal level meters (QAM & analog), TDRs, and return system test equipment
- Identify and repair fiber and node issues using OTDRs and power meters
- Interface with customers professionally to explain services and resolve issues
- Install and service Digital TV, HD, and HSD cable modems (Windows XP, 98, NT)
- Detect and repair signal leakage and decimation
- Perform cable splicing and understand RF design/system prints
- Complete daily service and installation tasks, including documentation
- Safely operate equipment such as extension ladders and bucket trucks
- High School Diploma or GED - required
- Minimum 2 years of cable technical experience - required
- Formal electronics training or certifications (NCTI, SCTE) - preferred
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with residential Cable TV, Internet, and Phone services
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
