Overview
Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. This position is responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. The role makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained. Technicians work in both our stores with Tool Rental Centers and in our repair centers. In a store, technicians provide service to store customers in Tool Rental, including writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking that tools are operating properly and demonstrating their proper use as needed.
In addition to supporting customer repair needs, technicians are responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department. In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the store where the repair originated. Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining the tools and repairing them as necessary.
- Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices.
- Provide service to store customers in Tool Rental, including writing contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, and demonstrating tool use as needed.
- Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
- Ensure repaired units are tested for quality, cleaned, and returned to the originating store.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
- Thorough knowledge of tools and ability to maintain and repair equipment.
- Ability to operate in both store and non-store locations as required.
- Experience with tool rental processes, contracts and invoicing is a plus.
