Lovely Professional University (LPU) inviting applications for Assistant Director/ Additional Director - Division of Infotech . The role will drive the university’s enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, and technology innovation while ensuring robust, secure, and scalable systems supporting academics, administration, and student experience.
Role Overview
Assistant Director/ Additional Director – Division of Infotech will provide strategic, architectural, and hands-on technical leadership across LPU’s IT ecosystem, including ERP, LMS, academic platforms, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital products. This role requires a rare blend of leadership, deep technical understanding, and coding awareness to guide large engineering teams and mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Digital Leadership
Define and execute LPU’s IT and digital transformation roadmap
Align technology initiatives with academic, administrative, and institutional goals
Act as a strategic technology advisor to university leadership
Technical & Coding Oversight
Maintain strong working knowledge of modern programming languages, frameworks, and system architecture
(Java / Python / JavaScript, APIs, microservices, databases, cloud-native systems)
Review and guide critical codebases, system designs, APIs, and integrations
Enforce coding standards, secure coding practices, version control, and documentation
Enterprise Systems & Platforms
Lead development and operations of ERP, LMS, SIS, CRM, portals, mobile apps, and analytics platforms
Ensure system scalability, performance, reliability, and high availability
Drive Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud adoption
Cybersecurity & Data Governance
Own cybersecurity strategy, secure SDLC, and data protection practices
Ensure compliance with IT Act, audits, and institutional security standards
Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk mitigation
Project & Delivery Management
Govern large-scale IT projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies
Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of initiatives
Track KPIs, system uptime, and service performance
Stakeholder & Service Excellence
Collaborate with Academic Schools, Admissions, HR, Finance, Marketing, and Operations
Translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
Ensure high satisfaction for students, faculty, and staff
People, Culture & Capability Building
Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering, Dev Ops, QA, and IT operations teams
Drive continuous upskilling in emerging technologies
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and ownership
Vendor & Budget Management
Manage strategic technology vendors, cloud partners, and system integrators
Ensure SLA adherence, cost optimization, and technical quality
Plan and manage IT budgets (Cap Ex / OpEx)
Desired Profile
Education
B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Advanced certifications in Cloud / Cybersecurity / Architecture preferred
Experience
10 - 15 years of experience in IT leadership, large-scale systems, or digital platforms
Proven experience managing enterprise applications and infrastructure
Strong exposure to software development, system architecture, and code review
