We are seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstalls and maintains electrical systems, including wiring, transformers, switch gear, motors, and other components.
Bends and installs various types of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and PVC.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical issues, providing effective solutions.
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute accurate installations.
Ensures all electrical work complies with NEC standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
Conducts inspections of electrical systems to maintain compliance and prevent hazards.
Coordinates with other trades and contractors to ensure timely project completion.
Trains and mentors apprentices, providing guidance and hands-on learning experiences.
Maintains accurate records of electrical work performed and materials used.
Adheres to company tool policies and demonstrates responsibility in maintaining required trade tools.
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED.
Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Four (4) years of experience in commercial electrical installation and maintenance.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Proficiency in advanced conduit bending techniques and electrical troubleshooting.
Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring apprentices.
Familiarity with NEC chapters 1-9 and ability to apply code effectively.
Experience in both commercial and industrial electrical installations.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of electrical systems, NEC regulations, and safety protocols.
Knowledge of conduit bending techniques, electrical troubleshooting, and system installations.
Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to install and maintain electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and project specifications.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
Ability to train and mentor apprentices, ensuring knowledge transfer and team development.
Ability to lift and transport heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and operate at heights.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and contractors.
Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
