Position OverviewA machine shop focused on medical devices is seeking an experienced 5-axis mill setup/operator machinist to join our skilled, knowledgeable, and fun team. We are a full-capability, growing machine shop looking for qualified candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience setting up and running 5-axis machines. We operate Haas UMC 750 5-axis and a variety of other multi‑axis CNC equipment.
Our parts are typically small and require precision to the 0.00X or 0.000X . The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, precision environment, with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement. This position is critical to helping us meet our customer commitments and ensure the highest standards of product quality.
- Operate and set‑up 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
- Lead and oversee the 2nd shift mill department, ensuring all machining tasks are completed on time and within quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain documentation and inspection logs in accordance with quality systems (ISO 13485 or AS 9100).
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Check equipment for proper operation, safety, and/or needed maintenance.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Lead and mentor other machinists, fostering a learning environment within the department.
- Work with parts that typically require precision to the 0.00X or 0.000X .
- 2nd shift hours: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday.
- Training/onboarding will take place on the first shift.
- Proven experience in 5‑axis machining.
- Experience in medical (ISO 13485) or aerospace (AS 9100) machining environments is a significant advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to 100% quality standards.
- Must be comfortable working the 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 2:00 AM).
- Ability to lead and mentor other machinists is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience setting up and running 5‑axis machines.
- Knowledge and experience with Haas UMC 750 5‑axis or other multi‑axis CNC equipment.

- Hourly with opportunities for rapid pay increases based on performance and contributions.
