Job Summary of the PRN Radiology Technologist Under the leadership of the Director and/or Manager of Imaging Services, this role provides technical assistance to all physicians working in the Surgical and Imaging departments with both diagnostic and interventional procedures. Responsible for the day-to-day clinical, technical and operational functions within the Imaging department. This includes, but is not limited to, the efficient, effective procurement, utilization and stewardship of all technical, physical and human resources.

Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to care provided to all age groups of patients in area, ranging from neonate to geriatric. Participates in performance improvement activities within the Interventional department and participates in CQI activities. This position requires compliance with all Joint Commission, state, federal, Corporate Radiation Right, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

Must possess critical thinking skills and strive to create and maintain great relationships with all facility stakeholders. Responsibilities of the PRN Radiology Technologist

• Perform radiological and interventional procedures in a timely manner; document required information and communicate to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information.
• Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other radiology technologists, physicians, nurses and allied health staff.
• Evaluate patient condition in order to adequately perform radiological and interventional exams.
• Inform and explain procedure to be performed to patients and what is expected in terms of their cooperation.
• Provide comprehensive direct patient care and assure a safe and comforting environment.
• Consult with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Assure that the necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and are safely utilized.
