Overview
Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites, assists crew in installation of many types of utilities, including sewer, water and storm drain. Checking grade, compacting, and shoveling.

Responsibilities- Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zone.
- Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Load, unload, or identify building materials, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
- Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
- Manual dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using a variety of power and hand tools.
- Tend to pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as dirt, gravel and asphalt.
- Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
- Six months of work experience in construction or related field.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
