Summary of Position - Join our team and make a difference this summer! Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and the Camp Leadership Team, the Camp Counselors are responsible for creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers ages 5–15. Counselors will lead and supervise a group of 7–10 campers, ensuring compliance with all policies and safety standards while providing a variety of activities such as indoor and outdoor games, sports and recreation, arts and crafts, field trips, and special events.

Kyle 2026 Summer Camp is a nine-week day program running Monday through Friday, May 26th - July 31st, from 7:00 am to 5:45 pm. June 29th – July 3rd a camp break will occur. Serving students entering 1st through 9th grade, the camp offers a dynamic schedule of indoor and outdoor activities.
- Support the Assistant Camp Director in planning and supervising Kyle camp activities for ages 5–15.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including pool supervision and field trips.
- Monitor counselors’ adherence to schedules, activity plans, and camper ratios.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and emergency support to camp staff.
- Assist with behavioral management and enforce camp rules and regulations.
- Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, staff, and supervisors.
- Document and report issues promptly; attend required meetings and training.
- Able to work May 26th – July 31st, Monday–Friday; shifts may vary between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Able to attend training in the evening or weekends leading up to camp.
- Perform other duties assigned by camp leadership.
- Strong organizational and task management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with camp staff, campers, and parents/guardians.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered, excluding the certifications.
- Two (2) years’ professional experience in childcare and/or youth recreation programs.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License.
- Obtain a First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 1 month of employment.
- Previous experience in facilitating Summer Camp or Spring Break Camp programs.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to oversee or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee may be routinely required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Work may routinely require the employee to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This job requires the individual to frequently work outdoors and indoors in a variety of environmental conditions, including elevated temperatures, humidity, moisture, and distracting noises. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
