Lead Retail Associate

Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Lead Retail Associate to provide daily direction on the achievement of store goals and support associate work assignments. The position primarily focuses on projects that span from one day to three months.

• Directs a variety of tasks including associate break schedules, production processes, and end‑of‑day recovery.
• Ensures adequate coverage at POS and donations.
• Monitors production quality standards and encourages the team to meet individual production goals.
• Functions as a Service Experience Leader (SEL).
• Maintains a safe and orderly work environment; ensures employees operate equipment safely and follow safe work practices.
• Consistently communicates and implements policies and procedures, reporting concerns to leadership.
• Resolves employee and first‑level customer concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
• Assists in resolving employee and customer concerns and addresses safety/security concerns promptly.
• Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities (Project and Change Management).
• Provides close supervision for completion of routine work, with detailed instructions for work that exceeds routine.
• Applies basic knowledge of discipline’s procedures and methods; demonstrates fundamentals of customer service and responds to routine requests.
• Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community and participates in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit.
• Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Forklift certification, if required at site.
• Prior work experience in a retail or production environment is preferred.
• Work varied schedule and flexible hours; nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires standing for extended periods, hearing warning devices, visual acuity for computer and written information, exposure to weather conditions, potential exposure to blood or bodily fluids, proximity to dangerous machinery or vehicles, and occasional travel.

Salary and compensation decisions are based on education, experience, internal equity, and market demand. Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago may offer an incentive plan subject to terms and conditions.
