Under general direction, plan, develop, and provide coordination and support for specialized training classes related to law enforcement, criminal justice, homeland security, terrorism prevention and mitigation, and other related disciplines.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of public safety programs including the disciplines of criminal justice, law enforcement, homeland security, terrorism prevention and mitigation, emergency management, and emergency response and mitigation.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, ability to supervise, and ability to work in a team- based environment.
- Demonstrated familiarity and experience in quality and customer service principles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail, and the ability to plan and effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to negotiate and write both grant and contract proposals.
- Ability to use a wide range of information technology such as database systems, word processing, e-mail, presentation software, and the internet.
Training Specialist-Law Enforcement position supports the Law Enforcement Department and is available to start on May 18, 2026. This position is a 40 hours per/week position. Typical hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All applicants must submit a completed application along with a current resume and cover letter.
