As a Safety/Security Officer you are responsible for performing protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. The Safety/Security Officer is also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and team members. Must be available weekends/holidays. As a Screener, you will serve as part of a Safety/Security team providing daily health screening before employees enter the workplace.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Duties include temperature checks and health screening questions of employees and visitors as they enter the facility.
- Foot/vehicle patrolling of resort grounds to ensure that areas are secure and free of unauthorized persons and disturbances
- Foot patrolling of the interior and perimeter of the hotel's to observe and identify potential safety and security risk or undesirable conditions
- Evaluating situations and making logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work
- Answering security telephone and respond in a timely manner
- Administering CPR/First Aid
- Checking visitor/employees as necessary
- Accessing secured areas for authorized personnel
- Responding to emergency situations, including medical, security, guest complaints, etc
- Responding to altercations and investigate
- Checking for safety hazards
- Having knowledge of hotel and guest room locking systems
- Completing incident/accident reports in a clear and concise manner
- Conducting investigations relative to property losses, guest and employee accidents and illnesses, crimes against the resort
- Providing escorts to persons carrying money or other requests
- Using proper radio etiquette at all times
- Maintaining and reviewing daily activity log
- Maintaining confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents
- Must be 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license is required
- Available to work varying days and shifts, including weekends
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Currently possess or have the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
- Prior law enforcement, EMS, security or military experience preferred but not necessary
