Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit position, requiring a Michigan RN license and expertise in cardiac care.

• Position is in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) of a hospital
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 12 hours each
• Requires working every other weekend
• On-call responsibilities are possible
• Patient population includes cardiology, post-op open heart surgery, congestive heart failure, and electrophysiology studies
• Procedures include PTCA, stents, TAVR, Mitra Clip, bi-ventricular pacemakers, and care of post-op open heart surgery patients
• Must be willing to float to similar units
• Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions and post-operative care
• Work as part of an award-winning CVU recognized for excellence in patient care and research
• Strict attendance policy with contract termination after three absences or late arrivals without valid reason
• National clinical trial involvement possible via the NISUS research department
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be considered

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Cardiac care proficiency required
• Travel RN experience required
• Comfort with EKG monitoring required
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Skills checklist for RN specialties completed within one year of application required
• Full-time employees of McLaren must not have been employed within the last six months
