- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout hospital corridors, lobbies, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
- Monitor access points and help manage visitor flow, including verifying authorization, issuing directions, and reporting suspicious behavior according to site procedures.
- Observe and report unauthorized entry attempts, loitering, and other unusual activity to help to deter policy violations and reduce risk to people and property.
- Operate and monitor security-related equipment such as surveillance cameras, radios, and access control systems; promptly report equipment concerns through established channels.
- Complete shift activity logs and incident reports with clear, accurate details, and communicate pertinent information during shift handoff.
- Provide assistance with locating departments, escort requests, and way finding as assigned, while maintaining professional boundaries and following site protocols.
- Support hospital code responses and other urgent events as directed, including controlling foot traffic and preserving the scene for follow-up review.
- Maintain a professional presence, follow uniform standards, and comply with all Allied Universal and site-specific training requirements.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
