We close at 5:30 PM on weekdays and 5:00 PM on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.

• Provide a positive customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and responding to inquiries and complaints with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Operate cash register to process payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Issue credit memorandums for returned merchandise.
• Keep all required paperwork secure and tidy until end-of-shift balancing.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify upselling opportunities.
• Maintain a log of pricing discrepancies for managers.
• Help answer phones and direct customers to merchandise in the store.
• Verify customers’ information in computer regarding taxes, including eligibility for special tax rates.
• Communicate with ASC employees for information or assistance using walkie-talkies.
• As register traffic allows, offer carry-out service at the completion of transactions, return shopping carts, process returned or abandoned merchandise, and manage trash as needed.
• Maintain register supplies as needed (bags, paper, etc.).
• Draft load tickets for large product purchases to be picked up in the yard.
• Any and all other duties assigned by management.

• Experience in a customer service role or cashier experience is a plus.
• Helpful, courteous, and positive attitude.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Detail oriented and able to work with people.
• Willingness to learn and handle transactions accurately and responsibly.

During the job, employees are regularly required to stand for extended periods, use hands to handle or control objects, and perform tasks that involve reaching, climbing, kneeling, or crouching. The role involves lifting or moving up to 25 pounds frequently, with occasional requirements to handle more with assistance or equipment. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, are necessary.

Verbal communication and the ability to hear are also required for safety and coordination.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
