HWDMC is a 94-bed medical facility that provides acute medical diagnosis, skilled, intermediate and long-term care to individuals receiving services in facilities operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, as well as individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities within the community.
Registered Nurses (RN’s) provide age-specific quality nursing care to all patients through the nursing process and standards of nursing practice. RN’s plan, organize, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care daily; as well as supervise, document and provide guidance in performance of staff.
Minimum QualificationsValid VA Nursing License. Considerable knowledge of professional nursing principles and practices; medication indications, actions, reactions and interactions; infection control; considerable skills in application of professional nursing techniques and devices used in a wide range of procedures; demonstrated ability to apply the principles, practices and procedures of professional nursing, to recognize potential patient problems, to make nursing assessments, to observe, record and evaluate patients’ response to treatment, to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.
