Southside Regional Medical Center is a community‑health care provider located on a 50‑acre campus. The facility hosts nearly 400 physicians across more than 40 specialties.
Job SummaryThe Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) delivers exceptional nursing care by assessing patient status, acting as a bridge between Med‑Surg and ICU units, prioritizing patient needs, developing and performing patient care plans, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.
Essential Functions- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment; analyze data; create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate effectiveness.
- Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice and organizational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months).
- 1 year RN experience (required).
- 6 months RN experience in an acute‑care hospital setting (preferred).
