Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED) - Southside Regional Medical Center
Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Emergency Department (ED) at Southside Regional Medical Center;
Level III Trauma center. Full‑time opportunity with sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for new hires (subject to rules and restrictions). Night shift, 12‑hour self‑scheduling shifts.
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN will maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and collaborate with an interprofessional team.
Responsibilities- Utilize organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
- Determine the priority of patients’ problems and needs.
- Implement clinical nursing interventions.
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide care to groups of patients in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity setting.
- Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes.
- Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Provide care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short‑stay to trauma.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice and organizational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support; PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, mandatory within 6 months).
- Minimum one year of professional experience as an RN.
- Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred (not required).
- EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required).
