We are seeking a board-certified Neurohospitalist for a locum tenens opportunity near Petersburg, VA. This position offers the chance to provide specialized inpatient care in a neuro consult service with a supportive team and state-of-the-art resources.   • Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• On Call Requirements:
  • 7 on/7 off call rotation
  • 24 hours to see a consult
  • No code stroke response; neuro emergencies are handled via teleneurology
• Coverage Type: Inpatient neuro consult service
• Patient Population:
  • Adult, ED, Medicine
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day: 15
• Areas of Rounding: ED, ICU, and 6 other areas
• APP Support: One APP available Monday through Friday
• Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
• Practice Setting: Inpatient

• Reason for Coverage: MD resignation
• Dates of Coverage: ASAP - Ongoing
• No Response to In-House Codes: Neuro emergencies are handled via teleneurology
• No Other Neurohospitalists: You will be the sole neurohospitalist during the locums coverage
• Locum Responsibilities:
  • You will not be responsible for supervising other healthcare providers
  • Focus on providing top-tier neurohospitalist care to a diverse adult patient population

• Board Certified: Required
• ACLS/BLS: Required
• State License: Virginia (willingness to obtain is acceptable)
