The RoleWe’re on the lookout for a Dev Ops Engineer to become an integral part of our Platform Engineering Team. You’ll join us at a pivotal moment as we take Evie beyond MVP. You’ll be part of a forward‑thinking engineering team with strong centres of excellence, high coding standards, and great team ethics, helping scale a tech‑led business that makes life simpler for our customers.
Candidates should expect a technical exercise as part of the selection process. The role is hybrid and you will be expected to come into our office in Peterlee.
- Collaborate on the design of secure, scalable, highly available, and cost‑optimised cloud infrastructure.
- Implement technologies within our environments using Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
- Monitor and manage our systems for availability.
- Support the team in applying Agile through Scrum and Kanban, adopting the usual rituals and the use of our end‑to‑end processes.
We are looking for a team player and self‑starter, someone prepared to contribute and help enrich how we do things. You will join a team where continual improvement through ideas and a can‑do approach is highly valued.
Required Capabilities- Developing and deploying via Infrastructure‑as‑Code; proficient in Terraform, YAML and ARM templates.
- Creation, monitoring and management of cloud artefacts in the Microsoft Azure Cloud using the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) via Azure Dev Ops.
- Ability to build and manage services deployed into Kubernetes, including container configuration and Helm chart management.
- Using AI to enhance productivity, such as code building and coding assistance.
- Cost optimisation of deployable resources following Fin Ops practices.
- Understanding of code written in C# .Net.
- Understanding of scripting tools such as Power Shell, Bash, Python, Bicep.
- Understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu).
- Understanding of observability platforms.
