An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Specialist Practitioner District / Senior Community Nurse to work within the Peterhead Community Nursing Team. The Peterhead Community Nursing Team is committed to delivering high quality nursing care to the local communities as part of the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Job BriefSpecialist Practitioner District Nurse – Band 6, 37 hours per week, Permanent.
The successful applicant will have a Specialist Practitioner District Nursing qualification or Integrated Community Nursing Diploma and, ideally, the V300 Nurse Qualification or a willingness to work towards it. They will be accountable for planning, coordinating and delivering safe and effective person‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate excellent clinical leadership and change management skills.
- Exhibit high quality communication and interpersonal skills, inspiring, empowering and motivating the team.
- Ensure safe, effective and person‑centred care is delivered to patients in the community.
- Maintain the skills and competencies required for the role, including progress towards the V300 qualification.
Skills & Qualifications
- Specialist Practitioner District Nursing qualification or Integrated Community Nursing Diploma.
- V300 Nurse Qualification or commitment to attain it.
- Valid UK driving licence with access to a car (owner or access).
- Excellent clinical leadership and change management experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata; a corresponding increase in the hourly rate will ensure pay is not affected.
