HGV Class 1 Driver – Whittlesey, near Peterborough
Join a leading agri‑foods haulier as a dedicated HGV Class 1 shunter driver.
Pay: £19‑20 per hour plus a generous benefits package. Flexible shifts – Monday to Friday, weekends, 10 pm‑6 am and 2 pm‑10 pm – with temp to perm status offering work‑life balance for experienced drivers.
What You’ll Be Doing- Safely manoeuvre and position trailers within the yard using a Class 1 vehicle
- Carry out vehicle checks in line with company and DVSA standards
- Liaise with on‑site teams to ensure smooth trailer flow and efficient yard operations
- Complete all required paperwork and use digital yard management systems
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous shunting experience (minimum 6 months preferred)
- Good communication and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and on‑time performance
- Training will also be provided
