Job Description:

We are seeking a Material Planner for our client based in Peterborough on a 9-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing material requirements to ensure continuous production flow and timely fulfilment of customer demand. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize shortages, and enhance supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, review, and maintain material planning schedules to support production and delivery requirements. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely material availability. Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks to prevent production disruptions. Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to manage lead times, expedite materials, and resolve supply issues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in planning systems and adjust forecasts when needed.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.

Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in material planning, supply chain management, or production scheduling. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities. Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are desirable.
