Senior Project Manager – Sweco (Peterborough)
Sweco is part of the Anglian Water @one Alliance – a collaborative organisation of nine partner companies delivering a significant portion of the water company’s capital investment programme.
We are preparing for AMP8 – an ambitious Asset Management Period focused on nature‑based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead a portfolio of projects from conception through construction, commissioning, and handover, delivering customer value, high quality, and sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and own end‑to‑end processes for a group of projects, ensuring alignment with outcomes, objectives, and overall performance targets.
- Embed Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) considerations throughout strategy, project design, and execution.
- Develop and sustain a high‑performing team, coaching individuals to meet career aspirations and enhance organisational output.
- Drive proactive, engaging, and transparent stakeholder management that fosters collaboration and professional challenge.
- Establish a commercial and procurement strategy for optimal delivery of the work portfolio.
- Apply a balanced approach to risk and cost, implementing mitigation strategies promptly.
- Govern projects through appropriate processes, ensuring control and compliance at all stages.
To excel you will:
- Hold an APMP or equivalent Practitioner level qualification.
- Have significant experience as Project Manager or Lead Project Manager (equivalent to Senior PM/Project Director) on schemes ranging from £100m‑£175m.
- Be comfortable managing teams and demanding stakeholders within commercial alliances.
- Demonstrate innovative, inspirational leadership, with sound judgement and decision‑making.
- Show the ability to create positive tension and drive performance safely and efficiently.
