Senior Project Manager – Anglian Water @One Alliance

Mott Mac Donald & Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join Anglian Water’s @one Alliance. As part of the @one Alliance, we are on a mission to create a sustainable and resilient future for water, with an ambitious £2.3 billion capital investment in AMP8, revolutionising infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation to protect the environment and support growing communities.

What will you be doing as our new Senior Project Manager?

As a Senior Project Manager you’ll lead and own a group of projects, develop delivery strategies, and secure client approval through to handover. You’ll oversee the design, construction, commissioning and aftercare of all projects to agreed handover time frames and standards in a fast‑paced, demanding yet highly rewarding environment.

• Lead and own the end‑to‑end processes of a group of projects, ensuring alignment with a range of outcomes and objectives by adopting various approaches to maximise out performance.
• Ensure that Health & Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) is considered during the development and implementation of strategies, projects, standards and processes, never compromised at any stage.
• Create, develop and sustain a high‑performing team, coach and train individuals to meet career aspirations and enhance team and organisational output and capabilities.
• Lead proactive, engaging and transparent stakeholder management that champions collaboration and professional challenge to achieve desired outcomes for all parties.
• Establish a commercial strategy (including procurement) for the optimum delivery of a portfolio of work.
• Take an active leadership approach to balance an acceptable risk with an acceptable cost; implement timely and appropriate mitigation strategies where required.
• Ensure the team follows the appropriate Governance processes and procedures to establish, manage and control projects effectively.

To join the team in this highly involved and pivotal role you’ll hold an APMP or equivalent Practitioner‑level qualification and have significant experience at Project Manager and Lead Project Manager level, equivalent to Senior PM/Project Director. You should have experience on schemes between £100 m and £175 m in value.

Accustomed to and comfortable with managing teams and a range of demanding stakeholders, you’ll have experience of working in commercial Alliances and understand the importance of collaboration to achieve success.
