We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our patient services team. We are looking for someone with a passion for primary care and the drive to support our clinical service.
Main duties of the jobYou will be assisting and directing patients toward the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Duties include:
- Processing appointment requests from patients for onthe day and future appointments
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
- Registrationof new patients computer data entry and medical records
- Ensurebuilding security

About the Practice/Department/Team
New Queen Street and Stanground
We are a large practicecaring for 19,645 patients.
The reception team is madeup of 15 members of staff across both sites.
Job responsibilitiesFacilitate effective communication when receiving, assisting and directing patients, ensuring the patient accesses the appropriate serviceor healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either inperson or via the telephone.
Person Specification Experience- Experience of working in a busy & multi-functional team.
- Call centre experience or equivalent
- Using Systm One (Clinical database)
- Experience of working within a GP Surgery
- A minimum of three years experience in a customer facing environment
- Experience of handling confidential information and data.
- Good standard of education
