Job SummaryThe post holder will play a key role in proactively developing the effective use and interpretation of information and analytics, providing comprehensive managerial support to the Care Quality Team, including financial elements. The role requires autonomous work, teamwork, and flexibility to meet varying deadlines.
Main Duties- Collation, analysis and interpretation of complex information across a wide variety of Care Quality Directorate priorities.
- Completing timely and accurate information and analysis for local and national reports.
- Managing and supporting the delivery of improvement projects and acting as Quality Improvement (QI) Lead across the Care Quality Directorate.
- Supporting managers and clinicians in defining their information requirements to meet strategic, operational and clinical needs including business planning, demand and capacity models and benchmarking.
- Being an advocate for change supported by informed decision‑making.
- In accordance with national guidelines and time frames, compile data to support existing statutory reporting requirements, ensuring all validation and submission within the timeframe.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the NHS Data Dictionary and Data Models.
- Using local and national reports to benchmark NWAFT against other trusts.
- Assisting with generating Patient Safety, PDT, Nerve Centre, Preceptorship, Hospital at Night, NCAA and Resuscitation monthly dashboards.
- Provide ad hoc support for Overseas, AHP and Advancing and Enhancing work streams.
Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.

- Experience of assessing the impacts of health interventions and policy changes on a local health economy.
- Experience in the use and extraction of data from corporate and patient administration systems.
- Excellent understanding of complex database management issues including data capture, retrieval and processing.
- Experience of developing applications and systems.
- Advanced practical experience in TSQL/SQL Server.
- Practical experience in the use of either Visual Basic 6 or Visual Basic .NET.
- A good understanding of the relevance of information systems and NHS targets for acute trusts.
- Familiarity with Health Roster and ESR or willingness to become proficient in these applications.
- Good understanding of NHS data definitions, codes and data sources.
- Specialist knowledge of NHS information systems.
- Prince2 or equivalent in project management.
