Accounts Assistant

Position: Accounts Assistant (Contract)
I’m supporting a well-established organisation based in Peterborough that is looking to add an Accounts Assistant to its growing finance team on an initial 6 month contract basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with early finance experience whether that’s purchase ledger, sales ledger or general accounts, who’s ready to take a step up and broaden their responsibilities. Due to the nature of the role, this would be a fully office based position.

The role offers strong exposure across the finance function, with the chance to get involved in reconciliations, VAT, cashflow and month?end activities as your experience develops. The duties will be as follows:

Processing invoices, payments and general transactions
Assisting with bank and supplier reconciliations
Supporting month?end journals and keeping schedules up to date
Preparing basic VAT information and maintaining accurate financial records
Updating cashflow data and assisting with treasury admin

As the successful candidate, you will have previous experience working in a similar role, with good knowledge of accounting procedures and processes. You will be proficient in your use of excel and also possess excellent communication skills on a written and verbal level.
