Management Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Management Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-growing SME. This is a role for someone who loves taking ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants real commercial exposure beyond traditional finance. The Management Accountant will play a key part in shaping financial performance, supporting operational teams, and driving improvements across the business.

The responsibilities of the Management Accountant include but are not limited to:
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and Board Pack reporting with commercial insights. Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, providing meaningful variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary. Partner with department heads to monitor overheads, improve operational efficiency, and support supplier negotiations through financial analysis and benchmarking. Work closely with the sales team to track performance against targets, develop KPI dashboards, and enhance commercial decision-making.

Strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and systems, and ensure data accuracy and integrity across all financial outputs. Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Management Accountant:
Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), with experience in management accounting within an SME or fast-paced business. Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality, accurate financial information. Commercially minded with the confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders across the business. Excellent Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability. Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, hands-on environment.
