Contract:

Fixed-Term Contract Salary: £45,000-£55,000I’m supporting a highly respected organisation in Stockton with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on a fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key role in strengthening financial governance, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting business-wide performance.

The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of core financial accounting responsibilities, including:
Delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, cost allocation and balance sheet analysis. Preparation of statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and Group IFRS. Ensuring strong internal controls, complete reconciliations, and robust working papers. Leading on assigned areas of the year-end audit, including preparing audit evidence and liaising with auditors. Managing month-end processes across revenue, accruals, payroll, tax, fixed assets, stock and provisions.

Preparation and review of VAT returns, payroll tax compliance and P11

Ds. Working with operational teams to enhance processes, improve reporting and embed new systems and controls. Supporting stock management processes, including quarterly stock takes and WIP valuation. This contract role offers meaningful scope to contribute quickly, with the chance to influence processes, improve controls and make a positive impact. About You You’ll be well-suited if you are: ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.

Experienced in financial or management accounting roles. Strong technically, with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS. Analytical, detail-focused and confident owning reporting and compliance. Able to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines. A collaborative communicator who enjoys partnering with non-finance colleagues. Interested?
