Interim Management Accountant

At Rutherford Briant, we’re supporting a well-established organisation on the outskirts of Chelmsford, recognised for its collaborative culture and continued investment in its finance team. They are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and strong financial control to support business decision-making. As a Management Accountant, you will:
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary Support month-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journals Assist with budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reporting, providing meaningful financial insight Maintain and improve financial controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to support performance and profitability Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management Support audit processes and liaise with external advisors as required As a Management Accountant, you will need:
Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar role Strong understanding of management accounting and month-end processes Good technical accounting knowledge with exposure to balance sheet control Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly Confident communication skills, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), or qualified by experience As a Management Accountant, you will get:
