The Role You are the technical authority on HV cable design. Lead design of 33kV-400kV cable systems Develop routing, thermal calculations, bonding designs and jointing philosophies Oversee cable ratings and ampacity studies Review and sign off detailed engineering outputs Interface with civils, substation, and protection teams Provide technical guidance to junior and senior engineers You'll influence design standards, not just follow them.

High scrutiny. High standards. What We're Looking For You've already earned your stripes. Proven experience in HV cable design (132kV preferred) Deep understanding of cable systems (XLPE, bonding, sheath calculations) Strong knowledge of UK utility standards Experience leading design reviews Commercial awareness - you understand buildability and cost impact You don't guess.
