Position: Procurement & Sourcing Lead (Electromechanical) (Permanent)
Hybrid Working Position

THE ROLE:

Working in the NPD (New Product Developments) team, this is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement professional to provide strategic selection and management of key suppliers and direct negotiation of costs and terms & conditions while ensuring appropriate sourcing and timely delivery of materials and services to satisfy manufacturing and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Actively participate in multidisciplinary project teams to understand project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring procurement strategies align with overall project and business goals.

* Contribute to the development of comprehensive procurement plans that define expectations, deadlines, and stakeholder involvement to support project success.

* Focal-point liaison between suppliers and project team members, ensuring vendor contributions match scheduled milestones.

* Maintain healthy and collaborative supplier relationships whilst still maintaining competitive commercial terms.

* Negotiate and manage master purchasing contracts, quality assurance agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and consignment contracts.

* Optimise supplier base for efficiency, quality, and risk management, including supplier onboarding and performance reviews.

* Analyse market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities and mitigate risks related to pricing and supply chain disruptions.

* Manage RFQs, sourcing activities, and oversee the procurement process from initial assessment to delivery and closure.

* Lead supplier evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing vendor management for PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), switch gear, cable assemblies & looms, fabricated mechanical parts.

* Project manage complex supply chains to coordinate delivery schedules, quality assurance, and performance metrics.

* Identify root causes of supply chain/procurement challenges and engage in corrective actions and continuous improvement with underperforming suppliers - ie:
Supplier delays, quality concerns, or contract disputes.

* Develop, implement and track corrective actions to minimise project disruption and keep procurement activities aligned with business goals.

ABOUT YOU:

* (Desirable) Degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical), Supply Chain, Business, or related field. MCIPS or CIPS qualified (Desirable).

* years' procurement experience in electronics or mechanical manufacturing; subcontract manufacturing experience preferred.

* Previous varied product line background, managing supply chains for electronic, electromechanical, fabrication and machining commodities and materials within an engineering or manufacturing company;including:

* Outsourcing of bespoke mechanical fabrication and assembly projects.

* Procurement experience dealing with manufacturers and distribution channels for electro mechanical components (contractors, Relays, PCBs, Connectors, power cables etc).

* Obsolescence management.

* Project Management of NPI & introduction of new components and suppliers.

* Strong understanding of technical specifications, drawings, and manufacturing processes in electronics and/or mechanical sectors.

* Proven commercial acumen:
Strong supplier negotiation & influencing skills; cost analysis and contract management.

* Experience in working collaboratively, developing relationships internally with colleagues and externally with key suppliers, to ensure effective procurement service is provided.

* Strategic thinking, market analysis, and risk management abilities.

* Proven track record of delivering cost saving and service level improvements.

* Previous Team leadership & mentoring experience (desirable).

* Good writing, presentation and communication/interpersonal skills.

* Previous track record of successful Project delivery & Project management (desirable).

* Good IT Literacy:

* MS office literate.

Good analytical skills using Excel and able to provide full data analysis for stock profiles / consumption / buying patterns from ERP system.

* Experience of working on MRP/ERP systems – ideally knowledge of SAP B1 or similar.
