Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll join a highly skilled international team supporting advanced machine tool installations, servicing, and repairs across the UK and worldwide. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking engineering business known for precision, innovation, and long-term customer partnerships giving you the chance to grow both technically and personally.

Job Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, service, and repair of high-precision CNC and machine tooling systems
Travel across the UK and internationally to support civil and military aviation clients
Manage end-to-end service visits — from arranging travel logistics to completing on-site diagnostics, repair, and customer reporting
Conduct electrical fault finding, calibration, and system testing to ensure optimal machine performance
Provide exceptional customer support and technical guidance, representing the business with professionalism and integrity
Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve complex engineering challenges and share best practices
Skills and Experience

Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
Strong background in electrical service and maintenance of CNC or precision machinery
Proven experience in a field service role, ideally within industrial or aerospace environments
Sound understanding of control systems, electrical schematics, and machine diagnostics
Excellent communication and customer service skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Comfortable with international travel — typically pre-planned and supported with full company arrangements
Pay and Benefits

Salary: £45,618.59 per annum
OTE: £65,000+ (including travel time and bonuses)

Hours:

37-hour week, all hours paid from leaving home to returning home (including flights)
Travel Bonus:
Additional pay for assignments exceeding 21 consecutive days
Benefits:

Generous subsistence allowance for all travel
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Annual pay review (next due October 2026)
