The Principal Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

I'm partnered with a leading environmental consultancy and we are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer for a pivotal senior technical role. This position offers genuine autonomy to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff and shape the firm's technical strategy.

You will work on high-impact geotechnical schemes across the UK, with responsibility for design delivery, emergency response support and multidisciplinary project leadership.

Technical Delivery

Lead geotechnical design across foundation design, earthworks, retaining walls, sheet pile design and slope stability analysis
Deliver rapid design solutions for emergency repair works and critical infrastructure challenges
Conduct site assessments, investigations and specialist reports for complex schemes
Manage Ground Investigations and coordinate subcontractor deliverables
Serve as technical lead for multidisciplinary projects, collaborating across engineering disciplines

Business & Leadership

Participate in business development and client relationship management
Manage project budgets and cost estimates
Mentor and support junior and senior engineering staff
Demonstrate initiative in advancing client outcomes and project delivery
