And now, were looking for an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) who wants to be part of that.
This isnt another churn‑and‑burn site role. Its your chance to:
- Take ownership of your projects and build long-term, meaningful experience
- Access real training, mentoring, and support toward specialist licences and chartership
- Work across some of the most exciting ecological and environmental projects in the North of Scotland
- Leading ecological audits and on-site environmental checks
- Delivering toolbox talks and guiding contractors with confidence
- Producing clear, accurate site reports, EMPs, and Species Protection Plans
- Balancing fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder communication
- Working everywhere from remote wild landscapes to active construction sites
- 4+ years experience in ECoW work or ecological consultancy
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
- Solid understanding of Scottish/UK environmental legislation
- CIEEM membership (or working towards it – AEECoW is a bonus)
- Solid habitat and protected species knowledge
- Full UK driving licence & access to own vehicle (4x4/off‑road experience is a plus)
- Confident communicator with strong reporting and organisational skills
- £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience
