The Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns and gains valuable, real-life experiences.

We are looking for 2 apprentices to join our Integrated Component and Solutions (ICS) team located at our Peterborough facility (PE1 5FQ
).

We are engineers, materials scientists, and technicians. We are strategists, innovators, and problem solvers. We partner across Caterpillar to develop the technology that enables the success of our customers. Our cutting-edge solutions are integrated across the Caterpillar portfolio.

COMPONENTS | We design and build the best performing, best value components and systems that form the backbone of our Aftermarket Solutions.

SOLUTIONS | Beyond components …we provide trusted engineering, research, validation and manufacturing services to our internal clients and technology leadership for Caterpillar. We help our customers be more successful with our solutions than with any competitor.

Apprentices joining this team will have the opportunity to collaborate with our technical experts worldwide, focused on the integration, development, application, and validation of electrical and electronic control systems for diesel engines, electric drive trains, and construction machine products.

In collaboration with our partnered training provider, University of Nottingham, our 6-year degree apprenticeship scheme will enable you to grow and develop your capabilities and gain a degree from a Russell Group University. Alongside on-the-job training supported by relatable mentors, apprentices will undertake off-the-job training, during their contracted working hours, to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become effective engineers.

Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to lifelong professional qualifications including:

  • An Electro-Mechanical Engineer degree apprenticeship certificate
  • A BEng (Hons) Electro-Mechanical Engineering

As part of this programme apprentices are required to attend university on a block release basis, therefore apprentices are required to travel and potentially stay over.
