Overview

AB Tutoring UK provides high-quality online Maths and Science tutoring across the UK. We support academic success, confidence, and wellbeing through personalised learning with passionate tutors.

Location: Remote / Online (UK-based tutors only)

Hours: Flexible evenings (from 5:30 pm onwards)

Contract Type: Self-employed / Subcontractor (no guaranteed hours)

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Online Maths & Science Tutor to join our growing tutoring team. This is a remote role delivering high-quality GCSE Maths and GCSE Science tuition to students across the UK.

The ideal tutor will be confident teaching both subjects, available for evening sessions, and passionate about supporting students academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, structured online GCSE Maths and Science lessons
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and learning styles
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive academic feedback
  • Write short session reports after lessons to summarise progress and next steps
  • Manage your own availability and personal tutoring diary
  • Maintain a professional, supportive, and encouraging online learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with the tutoring team when required
Essential Requirements
  • A degree in a STEM subject
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ tutoring or teaching experience
  • Confident teaching both GCSE Maths and GCSE Science
  • Availability for evening sessions from 5:30pm onwards
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (registered to the Update Service or willing to obtain one)
  • Access to reliable equipment and technology, including:
  • Working laptop or desktop computer
  • Stable internet connection
  • Microphone (and webcam where possible)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Comfortable working as a self-employed subcontractor
    , with no guaranteed hours
Desirable Experience & Attributes
  • Currently tutoring or teaching students
  • Working or studying within a STEM-related field
  • Strong passion for education, student wellbeing, and confidence-building
  • Professional, reliable, and well-organised
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
