Job Description
The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water's region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
This role will be hybrid with attendance at the Peterborough office of 2/3 days per week.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Demonstrating the highest levels of commercial integrity and financial self-assurance;
- Commercial management of the allocated area;
- Support all areas across the alliance with commercial management
- Providing transparent, accurate and timely commercial reporting;
- Adherence to the alliance internal governance to satisfy contractual and legal requirements;
- Constantly striving to embed best commercial management practices;
- Identifying and delivering commercial process efficiencies;
- Identifying and proactively managing financial and commercial risk;
- Fostering close working relationships with all key stakeholders including programme delivery and operational teams;
- Engendering a culture of commercial challenge;
- Controlling costs, maximising value and minimising future liabilities;
- Line management, coaching and development commercial direct reports..
- Be adaptable to the changing methodology of commercial management with the creation of new digital reporting requirements
- Confidence to challenge the wider project team's view on scope and hold them accountable for deliverables
- Must be able to lead by example and develop their team's skills and experience
- Must be proactive about new ways of working, problem solving and continuous improvement
- Confident dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines to establish complete commercial understanding
- Experienced in delivering large scale projects incl civil, mechanical, infrastructure and non-infrastructure type work
- Awareness of NEC3 forms of contract.
- Working in a complex matrix team environment.
- Awareness of relevant construction and contract law.
- Full UK driving licence.xcellent data analysis and reporting skills.
- Proven experience of Quantity Surveying.
- Experience using SAP e.g. Finance, Procurement, ALM.
- Experience of managing a team across a matrix environment
- Previous experience drafting construction contracts
- Relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICE
- Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
