Ward Clerk

Responsibilities

• To ensure the smooth application and control of all administration, clerical and computer processes associated with the work area.
• Ensure the provision of effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care.
• Ensure patient details are correct in our IT systems and complete admission details on arrival.
• To deal with enquiries and to pass information to the appropriate staff.
• To provide a courteous, responsive and effective point of contact (in person and by telephone) for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, both internal and external to the Trust.
• To keep ward diary and Excel spreadsheets up to date.

We are seeking to recruit a Ward Clerk for a part‑time position. Are you someone who enjoys a challenge and can work as part of a large team whilst being able to work under your own initiative, and are you looking to work in a fast‑paced healthcare setting? Then this role may be for you. You will be the welcoming face of the unit, therefore we are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual who demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to have an ability to be flexible in your role and duties due to the dynamic nature of the ward.
