Competitive dependant on experience

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

As a Senior Accountant, you will take a leading role in managing client accounts and delivering high-quality financial services. You will oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, tax returns, and management reports, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations. This role involves supervising junior team members, reviewing work for accuracy, and providing expert advice to clients on complex accounting and tax matters.

You'll build strong client relationships, identify opportunities for added value, and contribute to the growth of the practice.

• preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships and Limited companies
• preparing approval packs for clients
• assisting the team with client Making Tax Digital compliance
• helping to prepare and submit CIS and VAT returns.
• helping clients with general advice and software questions.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• 3+ years accounting experience in an accountancy practice
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified
• hardworking and good attention to detail.
• strong communication skills and confidence liaising with clients
• excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• strong Excel skills (including vlookup, sumif and Pivot Tables).
• participative team player that motivates others and willingly accepts tasks to assist others
• working knowledge of accounting software including Sage and Xero, previous use of CCH would be an advantage.
• organised and diligent, ensuring that jobs are processed in a timely way and that client requests are dealt with
