We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Dealership Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in managing the financial health of a respected dealership while working closely with leadership.

Position Overview

The Dealership Accountant is responsible for assisting with all accounting and financial functions within the dealership. This includes accurate reporting, payroll, compliance, and ensuring financial stability while supporting the dealership’s growth and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to analyze financial data and provide insights.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll, manage employee records, and prepare ROEs and T4s.
  • Prepare and submit government sales tax and WSIB returns.
  • Commission car deals and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms as needed.
  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Other tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in the automotive or dealership industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with payroll and government remittances.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel in particular).
Work Schedule
  • Full-time, 5 days per week, in person
