Job Title:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Occupational/Employee Health Nurse Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Occupational/Employee Health works under a nurse manager. They work together with employees, employers, and other health and safety professionals to find health and safety needs, create and carry out plans, and check how well these plans work.
The LPN may work in areas such as Family Care, Orthopedics, or Internal Medicine.
Job Duties- Providing clinical and primary care, which includes checking patients, diagnosing issues, managing care, and keeping records for both work-related and non-work-related illnesses and injuries.
- Managing cases of illness and injury that relate to work and outside of work.
- Assessing health risks and monitoring the health of employees and community groups.
- Investigating and analyzing trends in illnesses and injuries to promote and protect employee health and safety.
- Following the laws and standards about health and safety for workers and the environment.
- Managing and running services related to occupational and environmental health.
- Creating health promotion and disease prevention programs using different strategies.
- Offering counseling, health education, and training programs using methods suitable for adult learners.
- Conducting research related to work and environmental health.
- Education: Must have finished a program from an accredited practical nursing school. (Required)
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in health care. (Required) Experience in Occupational or Employee Health is preferred.
- Must have a current New Hampshire LPN license. (Required)
- Certification in a specialty area is preferred. Breath Alcohol Technician Certification is also preferred.
- Good communication skills in both speaking and writing. Ability to work independently and stay organized.
No specific equipment knowledge is required.
Certification Requirements- Must have BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA (American Heart Association).
- Must have a current license to practice in New Hampshire. (Compact license is allowed.)
