Ready to suit up as a part-time Security Guard

Garda World is currently hiring reliable and flexible Security Guards to support multiple sites for a key client, including new shelters, parking garages, and rotating support posts
. This is an ideal opportunity for security professionals seeking a dynamic work environment, with part-time backup positions available for trained guards.

Due to the nature of ongoing and new projects, we’re especially looking for guards who are quick to adapt, can work independently, and are comfortable moving between different types of assignments.

Responsibilities for Security Guard in Peterborough

Patrol and monitor shelter and garage sites to ensure safety and security.

Provide support at new shelter locations, assist with access control, and respond to incidents.

Serve as back-up or relief for regularly staffed posts when needed.

Interact professionally with clients, residents, and members of the public.

Complete detailed and accurate shift reports and incident documentation.

Respond to emergencies and enforce site-specific rules and safety protocols.

Qualifications for part-time Security Guard

Be authorized to work in Canada

Hold a valid security license

First aid certification required

Ability to stand and walk entire shift

Minimum 6 months of security experience preferred

Able to work independently, reliably, and adapt to changing site needs

Comfortable working in shelter environments and public-facing roles

Excellent communication and observational skills

Must be available for rotating shifts and on-call assignments (for PT/back-up)
